CN1: Mini-SAS connector to Host
CN4: Backplane ID setting jumper
CN5: Fan failure/HDD access LED output connector (to LED board)
CN4 sets the backplane ID (see illustration below). Each backplane must have a unique ID number and the backplane physically nearest the bottom of the system must have ID #1.

For configurations using the LED module (part 80H033215-005 VER:A2):
Connect the daisy chain cable to CN5 on each backplane and then to CN2 on the LED module itself.
Ensure that the jumper switch setting on the LED module is set to the defaults as indicated by ** in the table below.

The Chenbro 4-drive mini-SAS backplane for RM series includes an SGPIO processor device which manages the backplane LEDs. The RAID controller communicates with the SGPIO device using dedicated signals within the mini-SAS link cable.
Note: Ensure you use a mini-SAS to mini-SAS link cable type which connects the sidebands signals.
SATA drives: LED will illuminate green when the drive is accessed
SAS drives: LED will illuminate green when idle and blink off when accessed (normal SAS drive behaviour)
SAS drives: LED is solid amber
SATA drive: LED is solid red
SAS drives: LED blinks amber
SATA drives: LED brinks red
Adaptec Storage Manager will display each 4-slot mini-SAS backplane as a separate enclosure and will report an Adaptec SGPIO SEP device corresponding to the Chenbro enclosure processor device.
Note: Adaptec Storage Manager displays the first disk slot on the first backplane as “slot 0”.
