Installing SuSE 6.4 Linux Drivers

Download Driver
Please press <Enter> after each selection:
  1. Insert the SuSE 6.4 bootdisk and power up the server
  2. Select English in the Language menu
  3. Select Color Display
  4. Select English (US) in the keyboard map
  5. Select Kernel Module
  6. Select Load SCSI Modules
  7. Select More Modules
  8. System will prompt you to insert the module disk. Then insert the disk and press <Enter>
  9. Select dpt_i2o
  10. NO parameters need to be added. Just press <Enter> to continue
  11. System will prompt you "module loaded successfully", then press <Enter> to continue
  12. Module information will show up, press <Enter> to continue
  13. Back to previous menu (Start/installation menu)
  14. Select Start installation / System
  15. Select Installation / Update
  16. Select CD-ROM
  17. Press <Enter> for when you see the information box
  18. Select Install Linux from scratch
  19. Select Entire hard disk
  20. Select Start Installation
  21. After copying and install the files, will go back to the installation menu
  22. Select Main Menu
  23. Select Standard Kernel (Pentium optimized)
  24. Select Kernel menu
  25. Select Yes when you see the confirmation box to configure lilo
  26. Press F4 to create a New Configure
  27. Use default setting in this dialog box
  28. Press <Continue>
  29. Press <Continue> in the confirmation box
  30. In the Time Zone menu, select your location.
  31. In the Adjustment of hardware clock menu, select Local Time
  32. In the Enter Your Hostname menu, enter your Hostname and Domain Name
  33. In the Network confirmation box, select Loopback only
  34. Press <Continue> in the confirmation box
  35. In the Sendmail Configuration menu, select Do not install...
  36. A output screen of SuSEconfig will shows up, press <Continue>
  37. Then a message "The base system has been successfully installed. The new installed system will now be started in order to commit the installation"
  38. System will ask for new password. Enter your new password and verify.
  39. In the Set up Modem box, answer NO
  40. In the Set up Mouse box, answer Yes
  41. Select your Mouse
  42. In the GPM box, answer Yes
  43. In the Test GPM box, select Keep
  44. Press Yes in the confirmation box, then will install the packages
  45. Press Tab and switch back to the menu
  46. You will then get the message YaST terminate now.
  47. Press <Enter> to restart your system.
 
Updating Drivers on a Running System:
 
run :
rpm --install DPTDRIVER-1.14-3.rpm
 
Installing Storage Manager and SNMP Module:
 
run: rpm --install DPTAPPS-3.03-2.rpm
rpm --install DPTSNMP-3.03-1.rpm
Installation routine will create desktop shortcut for Storage Manager
