Conflicts with DOS EMM386
For the U.S. version of MS-DOS: EMM386.EXE versions 4.48 and
earlier conflict with the PCI bus I/O allocation scheme used
by some system BIOS's. If you are using EMM386 and you
suspect that it conflicts with your PCI device, upgrade
EMM386.EXE to version 4.49. To upgrade EMM386.EXE, run the
EMM386UP batch file in the EMM386UP subdirectory of the
Adaptec setup diskette.
For the German version of MS-DOS: If you are using the
German MS-DOS, you must upgrade EMM386.EXE to version 4.48.
To upgrade the German version of EMM386.EXE, run the
EMM386UP batch file in the EMM386UP\GERMAN subdirectory of
the Adaptec setup diskette.

Support for 5 Volt PCI Slots
All Adaptec PCI adapters support 5 volt PCI slots.
NOTE: If your Adaptec PCI adapter fits into your PCI slot
(i.e., the adapter notch lines up properly with the slot
notch), then the PCI slot voltage matches the adapter
voltage.
Latest BIOS
Use the latest FLASH BIOS for your PCI system to avoid
problems caused by older, non-PCI compliant BIOSs.
Below is a list of just some of the PCI system vendors, and
their respective CompuServe and/or BBS contact information
for downloading their latest BIOSs.
