Each product in the Adaptec DuraStor Family of External Storage Solutions has undergone a rigorous amount of testing to ensure system compatibility, high performance and product reliability. Our goal is to provide our customers with the flexibility to select industry-standard components versus proprietary components required by other branded vendors. There are several components that need to be configured with each of the products in the Adaptec DuraStor Family of External Storage Solutions.

The four key components are:

• Hard disk drives in the Adaptec DuraStor Storage Enclosure
• SCSI or Fibre Channel Host Bus Adapters (HBA) resident to the host server and Optical SFP Transceivers
• Fibre Channel Switches and Hubs
• Cache memory modules installed on Adaptec DuraStor RAID Controllers
