This driver only supports the Novell Netware Client Kit for DOS/Windows. This software can be downloaded from Novell's FTP site; a recommended version would be 1.20B. Recommended Windows installation is 3.1, with network support loaded for Novell Netware Shell version 3.26 or higher.

Novell Netware Client Kit for DOS/Windows version 1.20B Installation Notes:

1. Install the ATM adapter into the computer.
2. Start the Netware Client Kit installation.
3. At the Netware Client Kit configuration screen, select (OTHER DRIVERS) for the network adapter driver, then insert the Adaptec Driver diskette into the floppy drive and select the "DOS ODI2NDI Enabler" option. (There are no configuration options for this driver.)
4. Follow the onscreen directions to complete the installation of the Netware Client Kit, then proceed immediately to install the Adaptec ATM drivers.

Adaptec ATM Driver installation:

1. Insert Adaptec ATM driver disk into the floppy drive.
2. Change drives to the floppy drive containing the driver disk, and type install.
3. Press (ENTER) to continue at the welcome screen.
4. Press (ENTER) to accept the default drive:\directory installation location for the Adaptec driver software (C:\ADPT25LE), or enter your own selection. Notice that the prompt for your data entry is the ADPT at the bottom of the screen.
5. Files will be copied to the installation directory.
6. Press (ENTER) to configure the Adaptec driver.
7. Press (ENTER) at the Configuration Introduction screen.
8. At the screen asking you for your choice on the value for [ LEC_AUTO_CFG ], select 1 to use the LECS (at the ATM Forum well-known address), or 2 to use an LES (via an address which you will be asked to supply), or 3 to exit. (If you choose 2, you must be prepared to supply the 20 byte ATM address for the LES when asked).
9. If you are asked for the LES address, supply it.
10. You will be prompted for the drive:\directory location of your Windows directory (normally C:\WINDOWS); enter this value.
11. You will be prompted for the drive:\directory location of your Netware Client software (normally C:\NWCLIENT); enter this value.
12. You will be returned to the MS-DOS prompt.

Note:

You will need to edit the PROCOTOL.INI file (usually installed in C:\ADPT25LE\PROTOCOL.INI) if your Novell network is using any frame type other than the default of 802.2. If you wish to support more than one frame type, you will need to edit the batch file in the Novell Netware Client directory to properly bind the multiple frame types. Please note that the ATM drivers are NDIS drivers, and use an ODI to NDIS enabler to work with the Novell Netware client; trying to set the frame type in the NET.CFG file in the Netware Client directory will not work!
