- If you are downloading to the UnixWare 7 server, download the file cioimage.tar and proceed to Step 5.
- If you are downloading to a DOS formatted floppy, download the file cioimage.tar and copy it to the floppy.
- Mount the DOS File System on the UnixWare 7 server. Open SCO Admin. Select Filesystem Manager.
- Select Mount. Add Mount Configuration. Local. Select Device File /dev/dsk/f0t. (Note: If you get an error, ensure that the floppy is not already mounted. If so, unmount the floppy and mount with the dosfs File System.) Mount Point defined as /mnt (or specify a unique mount point). Filesystem Type will show as DOSFS. Mount Now is selected. Select OK. Close Filesystem Manager.
- Open a Terminal Window.
- cd /mnt (or specified unique mount point)
- cp cioimage.tar / (Copy the file to the root)
- tar -xvf cioimage.tar (This will extract the image and create a CIO400 directory on the root)
- Open SCO Admin. Open the folder Software_Management. Select Application Installer.
- Select Install From: Other. Specify Folder: //CIO400/UNIXWARE/
- Select the cio40: Adaptec CI/O Management Software for UnixWare icon. Select Install. (A WARNING may ask to re-apply the UnixWare update.)
- You now have the Services installed on the UnixWare Server. You must now install the CI/O Client software on a Windows 32 bit based machine (Windows 95/98, Windows NT4.0) to remotely manage the RAID hardware. The protocol must be TCP/IP.
Note: Ensure that you can ping the server from the client.
