Description:
This file contains the final 2940UW Flash Utility 4.1 for the PowerDomain 2940UW. This version of the firmware replaces the beta version that was posted 2/5/99 and supports both new Blue and White G3 Macs and well as older PPC Macs. Make sure that you flash your 2940UW in the system that you intend to use it. The file also contains the PD2940UW 4.1 Readme file.
Caution:
These utilities are designed to update the Retail version of the controllers. They are not designed for motherboard embedded controllers or OEM adapters. Using this utility for OEM adapters, designed-in controller chips, or other Adaptec SCSI host adapters may render those adapters unusable.If you are still unsure about the status (OEM versus Retail) of the Adaptec Hardware Product you have purchased, please contact Adaptec Customer Service at one of the worldwide telephone numbers on our Contact Support page. The Customer Service Representative can assist in determining the status of your product. Installation Instruction:
To update the firmware, double-click on the flash utility and select the PD2940UW card.
Notes:
WARNING!DO NOT USE this updater if you are using a Macintosh Clone computer. Instead, continue using the 3.0 version of the firmware (2940UW Flash Utility 3.0), until further notice. We are investigating several potential incompatibilities between the new open firmware driver and certain Macintosh clone systems.
Note: Customers using the previous beta version of the firmware should update to this final driver. While the card is plug-and-play, we recommend that customers also download the PowerDomain Control 5.1 utility.
